This is the first illustration I ever did for the Bulletin, for an article on our super-nifty babysitting service (well, super-nifty because it can get you lots of money; un-nifty because, as the illustration shows, life can turn into The Nanny Diaries). Ironically enough, I didn't actually draw it for the Bulletin; I was idly pondering the idea of a comic strip and drew this, and happened to attend my first Bulletin meeting soon after, at which they announced that they were looking for an illustrator, specifically for an article on babysitting. Is that fate or what? I never actually had a babysitting experience like that, but I do make that face quite often. |
