This is Jordan Pennybaker, a.k.a. the Jade Platypus, my superhero parody.  She's a victim of tragedy and crime; orphaned at a young age, she rebelled against her life of privilege by secretly falling in with a gang, but when she was saved by the East City Zoo's platypi, she decided to turn her life around, fighting for justice in their noble name.  Her bill, made by her late scientist father, allows her to track electronic impulses, making her not only capable of getting by without any of the normal five sense but a peerless detective.  When not fighting crime, she's just your average everyday mild-mannered billionaire heiress college student journalist.  She's also a shameless Mary Sue.  Because that's fun.

The bill thing is based on actual science, believe it or not; the platypus hunts by using these little thingies in its bill to track the electric impulses (or something, I don't know) of fish and frogs while keeping its eyes and ears closed.  Also, those spurs on her boots?  A non-lethal poison, based on the poisonous hind spurs of the male platypus.  Platypi are cool.  (And no, "platypi" isn't a real word.)

Medium: Really crappy Pentel markers (hey, this was forever ago, what do you want from me?)
